Chapter IV · of four
You move, I capture you
Everything moves. Life knows no stillness.
About this chapter
Everything moves. Life knows no stillness. We walk, run, dance, travel, fall and rise again. Movement is more than displacement: it is the most visible expression of being alive.
Photography has the power to engage with that fleeting instant. Sometimes it stops it, preserving a leap, a gesture or a glance that lasted barely a fraction of a second. At other times it moves with it, allowing motion to pass through the image as panning blur, trails or soft focus that speak of speed, emotion and time.
Photographing movement requires us to anticipate it, feel its rhythm and decide what should remain sharp and what may dissolve. In this dialogue with the unpredictable, every frame, too, becomes a decision. Each image in this chapter represents a different way of living alongside what never stands still.
For the true miracle of a camera is not that it can immobilize life, but that it allows us to return, time and again, to an instant that has already passed.
