Where the name comes from
- 1Gabriel Brau
- 2Pep Amores
- 3Tino Soriano
GPS was born long before it became a book. It was born of the friendship between Gabriel Brau, Pep Amores and Tino Soriano, and of a coincidence as simple as it was telling: their initials named the journey they were about to take together.

The foreword
Foreword by Steve McCurry
Travel reveals the vastness of the world and the shared experiences that connect us. Languages, customs, and landscapes may differ, yet a glance or gesture can convey emotions we immediately recognize.
Photography begins with this attentive way of looking—with pausing, remaining open to surprise, and connecting with the people and places before us.
In GPS, Gabriel Brau, Pep Amores, and Tino Soriano bring three distinct sensibilities to faces, landscapes, cities, rituals, and everyday life.
Their photographs offer glimpses rather than complete explanations, inviting us to imagine the stories beyond the frame. Each image reveals something of both its subject and the photographer who chose to look.
The title suggests navigation, but this book offers no fixed route: it reminds us that sometimes we travel not simply to reach a destination, but to learn how to see.
Steve McCurry
He agreed to write it after learning about the project at a workshop in Naples, in June 2026.
